CHURCH OF PANAGIA CHRYSELEOUSA

This historic church, although often referred to in the wider area of Akourdaleia, is located specifically in Pano Akourdaleia, while Kato Akourdaleia is served mainly by Saint Panteleimon. It is a small, single-aisled and vaulted Byzantine church with visible historical elements, such as its semi-cylindrical vault and its transverse arches. In the past it underwent later modifications with the demolition of its western wall for purposes of extension. It functions as an important medieval monument of the Paphos district, preserving unaltered the devotion and the simplicity of our religious heritage.
