CHURCH OF PANAGIA CHORTAINI

This historic medieval chapel is located in the countryside of the community of Pelathousa in the Paphos district and is dedicated to Panagia i Chortaini. The stone building preserves precious examples of the Byzantine church construction of the 12th century, bearing unique details in its masonry despite the passage of the years. Owing to its isolated position and its small interior space, it functions mainly as a quiet stop for private prayer and devotion for the pilgrims who tour the area.
