GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH
This is the historic central church of the today occupied village of Gerolakkos in the Nicosia district. The erection of this impressive stone church began during the period of the First World War in order to serve the constantly growing population of the community. After the events of 1974, the building came under Turkish occupation and suffered violent changes, as it was converted and used for other purposes. Owing to the continuing political situation and the prohibition of access, the church remains inactive for its lawful faithful and there is no possibility of celebrating sacraments
