CHAPEL OF SAINT ANASTASIA

The picturesque Chapel of Saint Anastasia the Deliverer from Poisons, known to the locals also as Agia Stasia, is built on a hill to the east of Aradippou, along the road that leads towards Livadia. Its erection was completed in 1932, choosing the spot where the ruins of an earlier Christian church previously stood. Historical evidence and archaeological remains, such as foundations and broken ceramics, reveal that in the past a small settlement flourished there. This religious monument has received recent works of conservation and renovation, while it is honoured locally with a festal service every year on 22 December.
