CHAPEL OF SAINT EUTYCHIOS

This ancient monument is built upon a hill, along the road artery that connects the community with Sia. Originally it functioned as a monastery, but it was completely destroyed during the Ottoman invasion of the sixteenth century, remaining in ruins for centuries. Recently organised works of restoration of its stone-built structure began with the contribution of the Department of Antiquities. Its authentic icon had been saved by a resident of the area and is now kept protected in the central church of the village.
