CHAPEL OF PATHKIA OF SAINT GIORKOU

This is a very small religious building which was built beside the spot where, according to tradition, the hoof of Saint George's horse was imprinted on the rock when he saved the area from Arab raids. Although the site is inextricably connected with Saint George, the church was finally dedicated to Saint Mamas, as the central church of the community already bears the name of the Great Martyr. In its interior a distinctive icon is kept that presents the protector of animals upon a lion.
