CHAPEL OF PANAGIA THE GALOKTISTI

This extremely old and devotional chapel is built upon a rise between the communities of Pano and Kato Pyrgos Tillirias. According to local folk tradition, the old shepherds used milk instead of water in order to make the mortar for its erection, thus giving the church its name. Architecturally it consists of a small single-chamber vaulted space, to which a narthex with a low dome was later added, while in its interior two precious phases of medieval wall paintings survive
