CHAPEL OF HOLY FORERUNNER

This chapel is hidden in the Larnaca district, outside the residential zone of Kato Drys, surrounded by fields. Its construction dates back to Byzantine times and specifically to the 12th century. Externally, its masonry is made of local stone, its roof is covered with classic tiles, while the external walls are reinforced by buttresses. On the rear side the traditional Byzantine apse of the sanctuary stands out. In the surrounding area the ruins and foundations of an earlier church that previously existed at the spot can still be discerned
