RUINS CHURCH OF SAINT GEORGE

This church is located in Anarita in Paphos, built beside the cemetery of the community, in replacement of an earlier homonymous church that had been destroyed by an earthquake. The area is considered of historical importance as it is believed that in the past a monastery operated there, which bordered the ascetic cave of the Saint. Every year on 18 July, the day of the celebration of Saint Onesiphoros, a festal vespers is held, attracting crowds of faithful.
