HOLY MONASTERY OF SAINT JOHN OF LAMBADISTOU

The emblematic monastic complex of Saint John Lampadistis in Kalopanagiotis is a UNESCO World Heritage Monument. It is a unique architectural complex of three churches under one enormous, shared wooden roof: that of Saint Herakleidios, that of Saint John and the Latin chapel. In its interior wall paintings of priceless value are kept covering a period from the 11th to the 15th century, as well as the skull of the homonymous miracle-working Saint.
