HOLY MONASTERY OF PANAGIA CHRYSOKOURDALIOTISSA

This historic convent is built in the verdant valley of the village of Kourdali, which forms part of the Spilia cluster. The katholikon of the monastery is a three-aisled timber-roofed church with a gabled roof and rough stonework, which preserves wall paintings of exceptional craftsmanship that date around 1520. In its interior the very beautiful, ornate wood-carved furnishings and the historic iconostasis also stand out, making it a monument of great national and religious heritage.
