HOLY MONASTERY OF PANAGIA SALAMIOTISSA

The Holy Monastery of Panagia Salamiotissa is located just outside the community of Salamiou in the Paphos district and operates today as a cenobitic convent. Of the original monastic complex of the sixteenth century the small, stone-built katholikon survives, which is surrounded by modern restored wings. At the monastery the homonymous miraculous icon of the Theotokos of the thirteenth century is kept, attracting many pilgrims during its annual festival.
