HOLY MONASTERY OF HOLY CROSS (RUINS)

Just before the entrance of Anogyra are the ruined remains of the medieval monastery of the Holy Cross, which is built upon an ancient early Byzantine settlement. The existing church is preserved in good condition, bearing a tall dome and rare interior wall paintings of the Palaiologan period.
