HOLY MONASTERY OF TRIVILLOURON

This is an ancient hermitage, today destroyed, located in the mountainous forest area of Lazanias and directly connected with the founding of the Monastery of Machairas. At this spot the venerable ascetics Neophytos and Ignatios originally settled, who lived as monks there before locating the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary in the neighbouring cave. Although the original structure does not survive in a functional condition, the site retains enormous historical and spiritual value for the ecclesiastical tradition of Cyprus.
