HOLY MONASTERY OF SAINT NICHOLAS

The Holy Monastery of Saint Nicholas is located to the west of the community of Orounta, built near the banks of the Serrachis river. Its katholikon is a single-aisled church with a dome, constructed of carefully worked limestone blocks that showcase its historical identity. After a long period of desolation, the monastery was fully restored and today operates as an active convent, attracting many faithful who honour the memory of Saint Nicholas and also of Saint Philoumenos.
