HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT EPIPHANIOS

In the village of Doros in the Limassol district is the historic and ancient church of Saint Epiphanios, which is considered one of the oldest on the island. Its principal architectural feature is its impressive pitched wooden roof, the structure of which is likened to the frame of a warship. Although the church was renovated by the Department of Antiquities, in its interior precious examples of old wall paintings still survive beneath the plaster, as well as icons dating from the sixteenth century
