HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT HILARION

This church is the central church of the community of Episkopi in Paphos and is dedicated to the patron saint of the village, Saint Hilarion the Great. The building is located in a prominent position at the top of the impressive homonymous rock of the area, offering a panoramic view towards the valley of the Ezousa river. Its erection was carried out immediately after the destructive earthquake that struck Cyprus in 1953, in order to replace the earlier medieval church that stood at the foot of the rock and suffered serious damage.
