HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT GEORGE (RUINS)

This is the main parish church of the occupied seaside village of Gastria in the Famagusta district, built with the traditional stone of the area. The church was the religious and social centre of the community until the displacement of the residents in 1974. Today, this historic building lies under occupation, has suffered serious looting and damage in its interior, while the celebration of weddings or baptisms remains impossible.
