HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT DOMETIOU

The little church of Saint Dometios, built on a rocky rise, is the first church of the area and belongs to the Franco-Byzantine period. It is a small single-aisled church with a hemispherical dome, built with small squared stones. It has two entrances, a marble floor and a wood-carved iconostasis of 1850. A few wall paintings and plain decoration survive. It served the faithful until 1902, when the new church of Saint George was erected.
