HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT ELEFTHERIOS

This extremely small and devotional chapel is hidden in the busy pedestrian street of Onasagorou, in the old walled city of Nicosia. It was erected at the beginning of the nineteenth century by the later National Martyr Archbishop Kyprianos and functions as an official metochi of the Holy Monastery of Machairas. Owing to its distinctive position among commercial shops and its very limited dimensions, the church is a quiet enclave of prayer but is unsuitable for sacraments.
