HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT JOHN THEOLOGIAN

This is an exceptionally historic church of Larnaca, which during the period of the Ottoman rule functioned as the cathedral of the Metropolis of Kition. The present structure was built at the beginning of the 18th century upon the foundations of an earlier church, probably of the Frankish period, and stands out for its single-aisled vaulted style. The church is particularly well known for its ornate, tall bell tower, which is considered one of the most elegant and recognisable on the entire island
