HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT NIKITA

This refugee chapel is located on the administrative boundaries of Geri-Latsia and functions as a distinctive religious space for the displaced residents of the occupied village of Agios Nikitas in Morphou. The small church was built after 1974 in order to keep alive the memory, the tradition and the bonds of the refugee community in free Nicosia. At this spot services are regularly celebrated, while the surrounding area is a meeting point and a source of spiritual support for fellow villagers everywhere. Owing to its limited interior space and its special purpose, it is not suitable for the celebration of weddings or baptisms
