HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT PORPHYRIOS

This brand-new church, dedicated jointly to the Presentation of the Lord and to Saint Porphyrios of Kafsokalyvia, is located in the mountain community of Askas in the Nicosia district. It is a very beautiful, stone-built structure with a traditional red tiled roof style, which was built recently with the contribution and the donations of devout faithful. Its location offers an excellent panoramic view towards the mountain landscape of Pitsilia, as it directly adjoins the modern viewing point of the village. Owing to its pilgrimage character and for the preservation of the tranquillity of the area, the church holds services mainly for Sunday liturgies and is not available for the celebration of social sacraments
