HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT CHARALAMPOS

This modern parish church is located in the self-housing refugee settlement of the Municipality of Geri in the Nicosia district. The need for the creation of the homonymous parish arose in the mid-1980s, after the mass arrival and settlement of displaced refugees in the area. The name of the church was chosen following a joint decision of the residents and the Archbishopric, as there was no other religious building dedicated to this particular Saint in the wider district. Today, the church is fully functional, has comfortable spaces and is the spiritual centre of the parish, regularly hosting the divine liturgies, the festivals and also the social sacraments of the faithful
