HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT CHARALAMPOS
This monumental, stone church is the central parish church of the occupied village of Kontea in the Famagusta district. It is an impressive three-aisled basilica, which was completed at the beginning of the 20th century and stands out for its ornate bell tower and the Gothic architectural elements in its windows. After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the church was looted and remained in ruins, but in recent years it received full restoration by the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, although the celebration of unrestricted sacraments remains impossible
