HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT CHARALAMPOS TRIMITHIOU

This church is located in the occupied community of Trimithi in the Kyrenia district and was the central parish church of the village. After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the church was savagely looted and all the religious relics, the icons and its iconostasis were stolen or destroyed. The building was illegally converted into a mosque by the occupying authorities, with the result that it suffered significant alterations to its architectural identity and remains inaccessible to the displaced faithful.
