HOLY CHURCH OF RESURRECTION OF SAVIOUR

This majestic and modern church rises to the south-east of the old historic core of Sotira, Famagusta, surrounded by recently developed residential neighbourhoods of the area. It is the central spiritual and worship refuge of the community, having been erected on the basis of the classic cruciform style with a dome that highlights the Byzantine ecclesiastical tradition. The interior of the church is richly decorated with ornate modern icon paintings and gold-embellished motifs, while its large external forecourt frequently hosts important national doxologies, community events and religious memorial services.
