HOLY CHURCH OF TRANSFIGURATION OF SAVIOUR

This large and imposing church is the religious and social focal point of the government housing estate of Anthoupolis in Lakatamia. Its erection began a few years after the Turkish invasion in order to meet permanently the spiritual needs of the thousands of displaced refugees who settled there. It has a modern and spacious architectural structure with a large forecourt, while its interior is fully arranged for the accommodation of large congregations. Owing to its size, its facilities and its importance for the area, the church is ideal for the celebration of weddings and baptisms
