HOLY CHURCH OF TRANSFIGURATION OF SAVIOUR

This beautiful church, known to the locals also as Chrysosotiros, is the central religious core of the community of Drymou in Paphos. Its construction follows the type of the single-aisled basilica with traditional stonework and a tiled roof, harmonising the building fully with the traditional stone houses of the village. In its interior an unadorned and extremely devotional atmosphere is maintained, where the residents gather for their worship needs. The church holds its festival with particular splendour every year on 6 August, attracting crowds of faithful from the wider semi-mountainous area.
