HOLY CHURCH OF TRANSFIGURATION OF SAVIOUR

This small church dominates a hill of the area and is officially protected as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Monument. It is a timber-roofed building whose interior surface is entirely covered with rare iconography. These particular wall paintings are one of the most representative and complete examples of religious painting of the Post-Byzantine period on the island.
