HOLY CHURCH OF PANAGIA EVANGELISTRIA

This majestic parish church, known also as the church of the Annunciation, dominates the historic area of Palouriotissa in Nicosia. Its erection began at the beginning of the 1960s with the laying of the foundation stone by Archbishop Makarios III, replacing the functional need of the old neighbouring monastery. Today it is one of the largest and most active spiritual cores of the capital, having rich social work and being a popular choice for sacraments.
