HOLY CHURCH OF PANAGIA CHRYSELEOUSA AND DEOMENIS

This historic church is the oldest ecclesiastical monument in the traditional core of Strovolos in Nicosia. Its beginnings date back to the medieval period, while its radical rebuilding at the beginning of the seventeenth century was directly connected with the personal efforts of the later Ethnomartyr Archbishop Kyprianos. In the interior of the church an incorporated Chapel in honour of Saint Nicholas is also housed, as well as a wood-carved iconostasis of exceptional craftsmanship created by craftsmen from Constantinople.
