HOLY CHURCH OF PANAGIA CHRYSELEOUSA

This imposing church is the main church of the community of Ineia in Paphos and is dedicated to the Nativity of the Theotokos. Although the erection of the building was originally completed around 1900, its official inauguration was performed in 1914 by the then Metropolitan of Paphos Iakovos I. The church is constructed of local hewn stone, incorporating traditional architectural elements of the Cypriot countryside. It functions as the living religious and social centre of the village, hosting every year a great festival on 8 September.
