HOLY CHURCH OF PANAGIA

This is the main parish church of the occupied village of Genagra on the Mesaoria plain, which is dedicated to the Nativity of the Theotokos. The church underwent significant repair and renovation at the end of the 18th century, specifically in 1793, under the guidance of the then Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysanthos. After the displacement of the residents owing to the Turkish invasion of 1974, the historic stone building remains inaccessible for the free celebration of sacraments, being a point of reference for the refugees who celebrate its commemoration in displacement
