HOLY CHURCH OF PROPHET ELIJAH
This magnificent church is the central church and the patron of the occupied village of Styloi in the Famagusta district. It is a single-aisled basilica of the mid-twentieth century, which presents a distinctive blend of structural elements with internal groin vaults and Western European architectural influences. After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the church was savagely looted and completely abandoned for decades; however, it was recently saved from decay thanks to comprehensive conservation works by the bicommunal Technical Committee.
