HOLY CHURCH OF HOLY FORERUNNER

This is the central parish church of the village, which is dedicated to Saint John the Forerunner, from whom the entire community took its name. The present church was built in the middle of the 20th century on the site of an earlier, smaller church of the 13th century that had been destroyed. The building is impressive, with a tall bell tower and facing of the characteristic dark stone of the area, while in its interior it houses icons of exceptional craftsmanship and relics of great historical value
