HOLY CHURCH OF SAINT NEOPHYTOS HOUSING ESTATE MAKARIOS G'

This modern parish church is built in the heart of the refugee housing estate of Archbishop Makarios III in Kato Polemidia in Limassol. Architecturally it is designed as a three-aisled basilica without a dome, having replaced an earlier prefabricated structure that temporarily served the displaced residents. The building combines a frame of reinforced concrete with a beautiful external facing of local Limassol stone, while its middle aisle is roofed with a visible, traditional wooden pitched ceiling
