JOHN OF LAMPADISTIS

This is an impressive and large church located in the centre of the mountain community, having been built on the site of an earlier church. Its architectural structure follows the type of the three-aisled cruciform basilica and stands out from a long distance thanks to its large and imposing central dome. The erection of the building lasted several decades owing to the economic difficulties of the period, while today its interior space is fully covered with icon paintings and it is the religious centre of the homonymous parish
