CATHEDRAL OF CHURCH SAINT THEODORE

This historic cathedral is located in the urban area of Paphos, in the central quarter of Moutallos, right beside the Metropolitan Palace. It was erected at the end of the 19th century upon the foundations of an earlier church that functioned as the seat of the Metropolis from the time of Ottoman rule, while in 1983 it was extended westwards. It is the official religious centre of the city, hosting all the official doxologies, the great ecclesiastical anniversaries and the receptions of foreign church leaders.
