CHAPEL OF SAINT DEMETRIANOS

This particular historic Chapel is found in a rural area a few kilometres outside the residential core of the community of Akrotiri. It is a small, single-chamber vaulted little church that is built entirely with the local stone of Limassol. The building was for years in a ruined condition and was fully restored by the Department of Antiquities, although its original floor was not preserved. Owing to its very limited interior space and its isolated position, it is not suitable for the celebration of formal sacraments
