CHAPEL OF SAINT MAMAS

At the northern exit of Kalo Chorio Larnaca rises the picturesque and plain chapel of Saint Mamas. The present stone-built church is a modern building of the end of the 20th century, which nonetheless carries a deep history, as it was founded upon the remains of an earlier, destroyed church of the area. Its unadorned architecture, fully harmonised with the natural environment of the village, offers a quiet space for prayer and devotion, while the chapel comes alive every year on 2 September, the day on which the memory of the Saint is honoured with a festival.
