OLD CHURCH OF PANAGIA CHRYSOPANTANASSA

This is a historic, stone-built church with a vaulted construction, which is located in the community of Agrokipia. It was erected at the beginning of the 20th century and was originally located in the centre of the village, before residential expansion brought it to the edge of the community. It has a tall, traditional bell tower that adjoins the building and an iconostasis of distinctive style in its interior. Today it is used mainly for special services, such as supplication services during the first fortnight of August, and owing to its character it is no longer preferred for the celebration of social sacraments
