PANAGIA ODIGITRIA

This single-aisled domed church is located in the community of Marathounta in the Paphos district and is dedicated to Panagia Odigitria. According to local ecclesiastical tradition, the building rises at the exact spot where the Theotokos stopped to rest during her passage through the area. The church is built in an elevated location offering an excellent view towards the village, while it is a central place of worship for the faithful, particularly during the celebration of 15 August.
