PANAGIA DIAKINOUSA

This is an impressive three-aisled church with two integrated Chapels, which is built in a beautiful valley to the south-west of the village of Prastio Avdimou. Its name derives from the tradition according to which the residents used to see the Panagia at night coming out of the church and walking in the alleys in order to protect them from epidemics. In the interior of the north-eastern part of the building miraculous holy water gushes forth from within a rock, enhancing the mystical atmosphere of the place
