PANAGIA ELEOUSA (LANEIA)

This historic church is built in the core of the picturesque wine village and is the central church of the community. It is a traditional building with a pitched wooden tiled roof and stone masonry, which houses a rich collection of ecclesiastical relics of great value. In its interior the renowned and rare icon of Panagia tou Valana is kept, dating from the twelfth century, as well as an old wood-carved iconostasis of exceptional craftsmanship
