PANAGIA ELEFTHEROTRIA

This is a small and plain chapel which is built at the site of the Monument of the Heroes of EOKA 1955-59, in the mountainous area between the communities of Pelendri and Amiantos. The church is constructed externally with the traditional stone of the area, harmonising fully with the verdant and wild natural landscape. Owing to its location, it functions as a space of historical memory and religious devotion, where passers-by and the visitors of the monument can light a candle and pray
