PANAGIA CHRYSELEOUSA (KOILI)

This imposing church is the central and parish church of the community of Koili in Paphos, dedicated to Panagia Chryseleousa. Built in the middle of the 19th century with traditional local stone, the church is distinguished for its ornate bell tower and its rich interior decoration. It is the religious and social focal point of the village, hosting all the great feasts, weddings and baptisms of the residents of the area. The community gathers there every year to honour festively the memory of the Theotokos on 8 September.
