CHAPEL OF SAINT OF GOD SOPHIA AND SAINT IRENE (EIS ARCHIGEION ASTYNOMIAS)

This modern church is located in the grounds of the Police Headquarters in Aglantzia and is dedicated to Saint Irene, who is the patron of the Cyprus Police, as well as to the Holy Wisdom of God. Its erection began at the end of 2004 and was completed at the beginning of 2006 thanks to voluntary contributions from members of the Police and the Fire Service, as well as private sponsors. Ecclesiastically it comes under the Holy Archbishopric of Cyprus and the space operates normally, hosting both the official religious ceremonies of the force and various social sacraments
