PROPHET ELIJAH

In the mountainous heart of the Larnaca district, in the district of Kato Lefkara, rises the stone-built chapel of the Prophet Elijah. This small Orthodox Christian chapel faithfully follows the Post-Byzantine architectural line, harmonised fully with the rugged mountain relief of the area. Despite its modest capacity, which accommodates a limited number of faithful in the interior, it is a particularly popular and devotional choice for the celebration of traditional weddings and baptisms. Although it does not have its own holy water spring, it is situated in an environment rich in natural springs and historical religious heritage
