PROIN CHURCH OF SAINT NICHOLAS CHRYSOCHOUS

This building originally functioned as an Orthodox church dedicated to Saint Nicholas in the community of Chrysochou in Paphos. During the period of Ottoman rule the building was converted into a Muslim mosque for the needs of the then residents, while the minaret that had been added was later demolished owing to an earthquake. Nowadays the restored monument preserves in its interior visible elements of its old Christian structure and the sanctuary, constituting an important historical and cultural attraction of the area.
